Cookstove Program

As part of a partnership with the U.N. World Food Program (WFP), Lifeline constructed twenty institutional stoves at four schools across the Cibitoke province in FY 2016. Made entirely from locally available materials and fueled by biomass briquettes, these highly efficient stoves have significantly reduced fuel costs and the amount of time required to cook meals for the students. In addition, Lifeline produced 2,100 household wood stoves in the Gitega province, which are benefitting approximately 10,500 individuals.
