In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, the need to access clean water and sanitation for the protection of communal health has become more critical than ever. Through its EverFlow initiative, Lifeline responded to the crisis at the very beginning and is continuing to do so in the wake of a recent surge that has locked down Uganda for a second time.
To keep water flowing in rural communities, Lifeline has temporarily shifted the focus of its EverFlow activities to the emergency repair of water infrastructure that has become dysfunctional. The availability of this essential service has been communicated through public service announcements on radio and direct contact with EverFlow customers.
Communities have responded by calling the toll-free EverFlow hotline and, to date, Lifeline has provided essential repairs to more than 100 water points, thereby ensuring the continuous flow of clean water during the crisis and helping to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Join us in helping to secure the health and safety of vulnerable communities by making a monthly membership contribution in honor of “EverFlow COVID-19 Relief.” All funds will be directed to critical relief services including, emergency repairs, communications on proper hygienic practice, distribution of sanitary goods, and strengthening of EverFlow’s capacity to sustain the functionality of water infrastructure.
