Imagine a water supply that is accessed, managed, maintained and sustained by rural communities. That’s the vision behind Lifeline’s EverFlow Africa program, a community-funded rural water pump maintenance project to maintain rural water points so they run and have near 100 percent water all the time. To assess the program’s success, Lifeline has teamed up with Stanford University to determine the overall demand for EverFlow and the impact on households, communities and local governments of maintaining these local water points rather than letting them fall into disrepair and having to replace them at a higher cost.
